Russia may ink North–South gas pipe deal with Pakistan end-Sep
MOSCOW, Sep 4 (PRIME) -- Russia may sign an agreement with Pakistan to build the North–South gas pipeline, which is to connect two Pakistan’s cities Karachi and Lahor, at the end of September, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told PRIME on Friday.
“The agreement is ready for signing, and I will visit (the country) soon so that we may sign the agreement on construction of the pipeline. I think it may happen in the end of September,” he said.
The project envisages the use of Russian technologies, materials and scientific, design and construction companies, while Pakistan is to ensure provision of rights for land sites for the pipeline and to do research and development works to define the pipeline’s route.
